Skillfully Made

I once found myself at the State music solo competition a long time ago and I had a wonderful lady play accompaniment piano for my song I was playing.  She helped me by directing me over the course of many months for this single moment so that I could perform at my best in front of the judges.  On the day of the challenges, she performed her part to perfection and helped me perform my part as good as I have ever performed it.  I was pretty tired after the stress, anxiety and the simple act of performing but when I looked over at her I noticed that she looked pretty tired as well.  I asked her if she was okay.  She looked at me and smiled then responded: “Wow, it’s finally over.” I was blown away at her statement and thought that she was saying that working with me was not a good experience.  After we were done, the judges took time to speak with all of the soloists and their accompaniment musician and I was again shocked as I saw this amazingly talented lady in nearly every interview.  She worked with and performed with more than 10 kids.  Even at 16, I was blown away by the amazing skill she displayed to accompany all of these kids and make each one feel as if they were the only ones she worked with.  Looking back on it now, I’m amazed at how God spreads out talent and how He provided her with not only the skill and talent but the graciousness she displayed in being there for all of us.

Revelations 4:11 reads: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will, they were created and have their being” The amazing skills God gives us and the great beauty God has created are ample reason to worship Him.

Take care everyone and please know that you are loved so much by Christ and He provides each of you with skills and talents - don't waste them, just play!
