Even Titanium Breaks

Good morning family and friends, I hope you all are doing well and staying dry with the wonderful weather we have had lately.  Cutting firewood in the rain isn't really all that fun but it needs to be done.

Yep, I’m beginning this chat with a reference to my favorite metal Titanium and if it can be the connection that keeps a Coast Guard helicopter’s rotors attached to the helicopter

or the skin that covered my favorite airplane the SR-71 Blackbird then it must be indestructible, right?  Nope, Titanium melts, is brittle in some cases, and is very hard to work with causing it to break in extreme circumstances.  Awe man, it's my favorite metal, why can't it be indestructible?  So much for my lofty expectations.

As I sat at this keyboard this week I wanted to search for something that was unbreakable in our world that I could contrast to the truly unbreakable promise of God’s love and faithfulness that He has for us. As you probably have already guessed, there is nothing as unbreakable as God’s promise.  This might seem like a rhetorical question but is there anyone here who may have experienced loss, great disappointment and other life-changing difficult circumstances?  I ask that question because I know that we have all had rough patches in life that have defined a little bit of who we are today but also wanted you to know that you don't have to be defined by those challenges.

You must understand that God’s unbreakable promises, limitless power, and loving faithfulness can support you in the worst of any situation. God knows that we will grieve when we experience the death of a dream, an expectation, a way or a season of life and without God, we will be consumed by those experiences.  In Isaiah 26, the prophet declares that God’s people can trust in the Lord forever and here is that verse 4: Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. Look at verse 12.  It's one of my favorite verses that I don't read about enough: Lord, you establish peace for us;all that we have accomplished you have done for us.  We know that we can trust in God; the rock, forever and that He gives us peace during our worst times.

When we face any loss, unforeseen disaster, disappointment, or difficult circumstance, God asks us to be honest with Him. He can handle our crazy changing emotions and every single question we have for Him. Please know that He remains with us and lifts our spirits up with surviving hope. When life seems to be crumbling around us and our expectations are falling apart, remember that unlike titanium God and His love for us is truly unbreakable.
