Consider You're Future

 Happy New Year everyone!!

There’s something pretty cool about beginning a new year. Aside from the obvious of moving on from 2020’s dreadful wake, It’s a time to refocus our goals for the upcoming year. I find it helpful to get away for an hour or two and spend some time in deep thought and prayer, asking God to guide me as I consider the time He’s given.  It is difficult to do so but while I do these tasks I will work to consider the direction that I am on and what course corrections need to happen.  While I look back on 2020 I ask myself if the reflections of Christ are present in me and often I find that I need to improve.  I may have had the best of intentions to find the best way forward but I usually find myself needing correction.  I often find myself focusing on the challenges and negatives that happened over the last year while forgetting that there were blessings that were abundantly present in my life.  If we continue to focus on the negatives in our life and forget the positives we are doomed to a circle of disappointment and despair in the new year and I don't want that to happen to ya.

I try to Consider what I have and not so much what I do not have as I spend way too much of my time focusing on what I do not have that I often fail to see how rich I truly am and thus miss opportunities to be a blessing to others.  There are so many challenges that we face each and every single day and have to evaluate what to do about them that we often lose focus on making wise decisions with the full picture.  When we only focus on the negative challenges of the days ahead and fail to understand the blessings and education we learned in the past we will never be capable of understanding what God has in store for us.

As we move forward into a new year, I pray that all of you experience the best that 2021 has to offer.  I mostly pray that you will look to Jesus for inspiration and guidance as we all try to mitigate the challenges ahead and know that He is with us and IS the full picture.

I look at the coming year as a blank music sheet that I get to write a new song in.  I may not know all that this song will be but I do know my inspiration is from Christ and His guidance in my life is perfect.

Take care ya’ll, have a great new year!!
